SNAPCHAT SPECTACLES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

Snapchat have announced that their Spectacles, which were once only available in the illusive Snapbot vending machines and NYC pop up store, are finally available to purchase online. They are now sold at Spectacles.com for $129.99, meaning that you no longer have to chase a vending machine around the US to grab yourself a pair.

INSTAGRAM INTRODUCE PICTURE CAROUSEL

With the aim of sharing a more complete picture of your experiences, Instagram’s new update now allows you to post up to ten photos or videos as one swipeable carousel. This new feature enables users to select individual filters on each picture, choose their order and tag friends to their post. Instagram will share this feature globally on iOS and Android over the next few weeks.

FACEBOOK ALLOWS YOU TO ADD A FLAG TO YOUR PROFILE PICTURE 

Facebook have created a vast number of profile frames and filters to highlight different events or causes for some time now. However this new update is simply to celebrate your country and shows Facebook as a unified global community. This feature allows you to choose your countries flag (almost 200 available) and add the image to the left top corner of your profile picture.

‘ANDROID MESSAGES’ IS THE NEW DEFAULT MESSAGING APP FOR GOOGLE

As Google make a number of changes to their messaging services, the most notable change is the default SMS app Google offers moving from ‘Messenger’ to ‘Android Messages’. This update offers key features that we know from other messaging apps, including multimedia messages and read receipts. ‘Android Messages’ is available to download directly from the Play Store, meaning the users do not have to wait for a software update to use this messaging service.

WHATSAPP INTRODUCE STORIES FEATURE

Following the trend of other social platforms, Whatsapp have now created a visual status feature, labeled as Whatsapp stories. This update allows users to post stories using the in-app camera, with the option to add drawings, text and emoji’s before posting in the Status tab where is can be viewed by contacts for the next 24 hours.
