Pokémon creates a new app: ‘Pokémon Playhouse’
Following the success of ‘Pokémon Go’, Pokémon have teamed up with Nintendo and Niantic to create a new app called ‘Pokémon Playhouse’, aimed at preschool aged children. The app has 50 Pokémon, and features never seen before versions of characters, such as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Litten and Snorlax. Players can look after their Pokémon through the ‘Pokémon Grooming’ part of the game, as well as hunt down Pokémon in the sky through the ‘Search the Stars’ feature. They can also start a Pokémon band, feed them, take them for a walk, as well as solve puzzles and listen to stories. To help young players use the app, there is a human character who guides them through all the activities. As players get further into the game, they will discover more and more Pokémon hatching out of eggs. The app is now available on iOS and Android, and is free to download.
