LOOKING AHEAD AT WAY TO BLUE: OUR EVP

Paying the best for the best is important, but we realised a long time ago that talented people want to be part of something bigger – somewhere they can make a difference and somewhere they are looked after in more ways than just in their pay packet.

We believe in nurturing the whole person throughout their career, whilst also supporting their life outside of work. We have a flexible working culture and we offer global work opportunities for all employees once they have been with us for a year. It’s also important to us that everyone knows how they can impact upon the business. As such, we have introduced peer group meetings, mentoring programmes and more regular two-way feedback. This is supported by lots of softer benefits such as free breakfasts, free drinks etc. We are also a very sociable bunch, with regular team and company activities throughout the year!

This is not to say that we don’t believe in offering an impressive competitive benefits package with everyone receiving 27 days holiday; life insurance; income protection; matching pension contributions and a healthcare cash back policy ensuring that dental, optical needs and complimentary therapies are taken care of.  We also offer a company enhanced maternity and paternity package to take the pressure off those when they most need it.  For us it’s about ensuring that we give people what they need both inside and outside of work.

Putting people’s careers first is at the heart of all Way To Blue’s decisions, which is why we like to do things slightly differently.  We have scrapped the annual review process for a much more succinct, and in our opinion, better way of supporting career development.  We now operate a ‘quarterly check in process’ that has gotten rid of the formality of appraisals and replaced it with a quick set of questions: stop, start, continue.  Gone are the lengthy forms, and in their place is a one pager to formalize the goals.  These quarterly check ins take 10 minutes to complete and have reduced ‘annual appraisal fear’ due to the regularity of actionable feedback!

We love to positively disrupt and challenge our approach to the norm.  As an agency, we encourage feedback and always try new ways and means of doing that could enhance the working experience.
