UK Movie Buzz charts – 29th January 2016

Opening this week in the UK we have Rooster Teeth’s theatrical debut Lazer Team leading the way with an impressive 3,177 mentions, almost a quarter of which were Intent-To-View mentions at 724. Close behind is Robert De Niro and Zac Efron’s Dirty Grandpa with 3,153 mentions and 355 ITV mentions. Almost keeping up is journalist drama Spotlight with 2,017 mentions, but only 83 ITV mentions, performing below its genre benchmark. Next up is Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, with a modest 459 mentions, but a high percentage of ITV mentions at 131 (28%). Finally is Chilean miner biographical The 33 with 308 mentions and 12 ITV mentions.


Moving into its second week is Ride Along 2 starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube topping the buzz chart with 6,257 mentions and 1,453 ITV mentions. Also moving into its second week is star studded drama The Big Short, staying strong with an impressive 5,593 mentions and 637 ITV mentions. Next up is sci-fi adventure The 5th Wave with Chloe Grace Moretz, performing above its genre benchmark with 2,894 mentions and 541 ITV mentions. The last film moving into its second week is Our Brand Is Crisis with Sandra Bullock, getting 358 mentions and 17 ITV mentions.

Finally, we look forward to upcoming releases starting the weekend of Friday 5th, such as comedy reboot Dad’s Army, keeping fans excited with 3,798 mentions and 259 ITV mentions. Also we look forward to Jack Black in Goosebumps with 414 mentions and 74 ITV mentions. Finally, only just making it onto our charts is the Point Break remake with 179 mentions and 7 ITV mentions, and Trumbo with 177 mentions and 15 ITV mentions, both performing under their genre benchmark.
