US Movie Buzz Chart 26th February 2016

Opening this week in the US is Olympic comedy Eddie the Eagle with Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman, starting the week strong with 9,147 online mention and 1,001 Intent-to-View (ITV) mentions, performing above its ‘Comedy’ benchmark genre. Also opening this week is Gods of Egypt with 6,073 mentions and 685 ITV mentions, performing at its ‘Fantasy’ genre benchmark. The final film opening this week is Triple 9, performing below its genre benchmark with 5,009 mentions and 409 ITV mentions.

Moving into its second week is The Witch scoring an impressive 18,354 mentions, however not quite reaching its demanding ‘Horror’ genre benchmark with 1,921 ITV mentions. Also in their second week of release are Race with 11,174 mentions and 620 ITV mentions and Risen with 9,512 mentions and 841 ITV mentions. Race and Risen also performed below their genre benchmarks.

Finally we look forward to the release of Zootopia opening on the weekend of the 4th March, with a very impressive 21,316 mentions and 2,237 ITV mentions, performing above its ‘Animation’ genre benchmark. Also opening next week are London Has Fallen with 2,772 and 205 ITV mentions and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with 1,599 mentions and 74 ITV mentions. Both London Has Fallen and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot performed below their genre benchmarks.
