US Movie Buzz Charts – 22nd January 2016

Opening this week we have sci-fi adventure ‘The 5th Wave’ with Chloe Grace Moretz with 13,951 mentions and 2,352 Intent-to-View (ITV) mentions. Creeping up behind is chilling horror ‘The Boy’ earning itself 12,765 mentions and 3,186 ITV mentions. Finally this week we have Robert De Niro and Zac Efron starring in spring-break comedy ‘Dirty Grandpa’, managing 6,796 mentions and 923 ITV mentions.

Entering its second week is ‘13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’ causing controversy and shooting to the top of the charts with an impressive 67,269 mentions and 6,312 ITV mentions. Also entering its second week is ‘Ride Along 2’ scoring a respectable 44,153 mentions and an even more impressive 8,799 ITV mentions. Next up is animated feature ‘Norm of the North’ starring Rob Schneider, with 12,387 mentions and 2,553 ITV mentions despite poor reviews.

Finally we have the following films releasing next week to look forward to, ‘Kung Fu Panda’ tops the scoreboard with 7,469 mentions and 344 ITV mentions, unfortunately not meeting its genre benchmark. Next up is ‘Fifty Shades of Black’, whipping up a respectable 6,303 mentions and 1,326 ITV mentions and performing above its genre benchmark. Finally for this week is ‘The Finest Hours’, unfortunately not in its finest hours performing way below its benchmark with only 1,999 mentions and 105 ITV mentions.
